Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as a senior classifier in HTSUS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States) and serve as a team lead for a wide range of products for Bosch. You will apply working knowledge of laws and regulations, provide guidance to external departments seeking to import or export products. Perform internal audit processes for transactions and establish a statistical method for strategic gap/risk analysis and corrective activities. Additional scope of responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
Serve as a liaison across departmental lines and business units on the subject of
ECCN (Export Control Classification Number), HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications, FTA (Free Trade Agreements) and other import/export functions as necessary.
Update and maintain internal systems and guidebooks relative to this topic.
Classify and research CBP rulings and Explanatory Notes.
Assign ECCN classifications for export control.
Serve as Data Security Officer for a defined group inclusive of Compliance.
Lead project activity associated to compliance, efficiency and improvement in transactional excellence.
Capture and analyze data, develop metrics/statistics, and utilize that information to generate reports for management review.
Provide internal training as required on regulations, classification and control topics
Your competencies and
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in relative field of study or equivalent practical work experience will be considered
Minimum of 5 years trade compliance experience in working in the HTSUS and
EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Working knowledge in classification, ECCN, Technology Control and Deemed Exports
Experience in working with applicable regulatory government agencies regarding import and export
Proven ability to incorporate business strategies and industry best practices into operational and functional goals
High ethical standards, demonstrated success in applying independent judgment, strong project development and management skills
Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Fluent in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; experience with SAP GTS Module is preferred
Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Certified Classification Specialist (CCLS) and Import Broker License are preferred
